Our Story
Brand’s Barber Parlor was founded in 2016 by Andres Madrigal Brand, better known as “Dre”.
Dre was born in New York City and raised in the Poconos by immigrant parents from Medellin, Colombia. Dre got his start at home cutting his own hair in the late 90s.
After practicing on family and friends for years, Dre decided to turn his passion into a profession, and enrolled to get his Master Barber License in New York City in 2005.
He began cutting professionally at El Coqui barbershop, learning from the most talented barbers in Stroudsburg, PA. He absorbed an inner city style working with barbers from Puerto Rico.
After several years at El Coqui, Dre spent a year at Back to Basics Barbershop. Dre continued to refine his craft, and worked alongside one of the most influential barbers in the U.S.
After years of experience in PA, there was an opportunity to explore the Craft of Barbering in Japan. Dre decided to seize the opportunity, and spent the next year at Cold Cuts Barbershop in Tokyo, Japan.
Dre deeply appreciated his time living in Japan, cutting hair alongside one of Tokyo's most progressive barbers. Dre was able to learn and exercise specialized scissor techniques, while introducing the influences and styles he picked up during his years at El Coqui and Back To Basics.
Dre gained notoriety for cutting the hair of Professional Athletes and Japanese Entertainers, and he developed a deep appreciation for the barber culture between Eastern and Western hemispheres.
After his time in Tokyo, an opportunity arose to live and work in Sicily, Italy. Dre embraced the chance to experience new culture, and further hone his craft. He accepted a position at a well known barbershop in the city of Catania.
European hairstyles brought a more classic approach to barbering. Once again, he worked alongside some of Italy's finest barbers while infusing his own style developed in America and Japan.
Upon returning to America, Dre knew it was time to open his own establishment, and in 2016 he opened Brand’s Barber Parlor.
Brand's Barber Parlor was created reflecting Dre’s experience around the world, while honoring the rich American barber tradition.

The team has grown, but the core of the Brand’s experience has remained the same. The highest quality haircuts and excellent customer service, in a charming and welcoming environment.
